Privacy Policy
Rendered Sound is published by Veridem Holdings Inc. We collect as little as possible, and nothing at all is required to read, listen or watch.
What We Collect
- Nothing, for ordinary reading. Editorials, music, video and the ecosystem pages require no account and no sign-in.
- Overdub & leaderboard. When you finish a game we store the score, the genre, the mode and the display name you choose, along with a random ID generated in your browser. No email, no account, no cross-site tracking.
- Local storage. Your daily-challenge results, display name and player preferences are kept in your own browser so the game remembers you. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Messages and submissions. If you contact us, enter The Rendered Challenge or submit to the Listening Room, we hold what you send us and any contact details you include.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe on Substack, Substack holds your email under its own privacy policy — we do not receive a separate copy for marketing.
- Site accounts. Editor and admin accounts store an email address and a role. There are no public sign-ups.
Why We Collect It
Only to run the things you asked for: showing a leaderboard, replying to you, judging a challenge entry, or letting an editor publish. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Cookies & Embedded Media
We use only the minimal technical storage the site needs to function. YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube may still set cookies once you press play, under Google's own policy.
Storage and Security
Data is held in a secured database with row-level access rules; uploaded media is served through expiring signed links rather than open public URLs.
Children
Rendered Sound is intended for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, you may use the site only through a parent or guardian's account and with their supervision. If you believe a minor has given us information directly, contact us and we will remove it.
Deletion & Retention
Leaderboard and local data. Ask us and we will remove a leaderboard entry. Anything stored in your browser you can clear yourself at any time.
Published work is permanent. Published editorials, releases and credited challenge features remain part of the public record of the site. Where a Veridem product has issued you a certificate or registry ID, that authorship record is permanent across the Veridem Authorship Registry and is not removed on request — that permanence is the point of the registry.
Your Rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@getveridem.com. We respond within a reasonable time, subject to the permanent-record carve-out above.
