Each genre sets your board shape and what the B-Side is hunting for.
Finish the song before the B-Side takes it from you.
Overdub is a card game about authorship, played one song section at a time. Tap the deck to draw two cards, then place one into the timeline. Every card carries notes, and a card only sits clean next to a neighbour it shares a note with. Force a bad fit, and the take gets noisy.
The B-Side is an AI opponent that wakes once you start discarding, then claims cards off the top of the deck in shifting moods. Once it's awake, every wasted turn feeds it.
A per-turn countdown starts at your first placement and tightens as the song fills. Let it run out, and the B-Side gets a free pull from the deck.
Clean placements, completed sections, cleared ghost tracks, and your one banked wild card all feed an authorship score on Veridem's MHAIX scale. Every finished run is logged to the leaderboard.
Each genre reshapes the board and locks a section until you earn it. Pop opens on the Intro and seals the Outro for last. Country keeps every Chorus shut until the Hook is finished. Hover any rule in-game to read it in full. Now pick a genre, and overdub something only you could have made.
